The conference is a conjoint effort of the people behind the 1st Symposium of Pedagogy and Psychology PhD Students “Human relations and nowadays challenges” and the Foundation PRO SCIENTIA PUBLICA.
The 1st Symposium of Pedagogy and Psychology PhD Students 'Human relations and nowadays challenges' took place in the University of Wrocław on the 15th-18th of March 2007. It was organized by Piotr Sorokowski (assistant professor in the Department of Psychology of the University of Wrocław) and Michał Kanonowicz (doctoral candidate in the Department of Education of the University). This academic event was dedicated to post-graduate students of Psychology and Pedagogy as well as young (in spirit) academics (a few doctors and one professor also took part). There were almost 80 participants and guests from various European countries: Czech Republic, France, Greece, Netherlands, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy as well as Qatar and Republic of South Africa. The opening of the conference took part in the 18th century baroque Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław and the papers were presented throughout following days in the Departament of Psychology and Pedagogy of the University. Among the guests of the conference were professors: Dariusz Doliński, Rafał Krzysztof Ohme, Paweł Boski, Stanisław Juszczyk and Robert Saciuk. The papers of the participants were published in two reviewed academic journals: "The New Educational Review" and "Polish Journal of Applied Psychology". The Symposium was not only a true meeting place of young academics, an opportunity to share scientific achievements but also a cultural event: there was a special performance of "Street of Crocodiles" by renowned Form Theatre of Józef Markocki and sightseeing trip around Wrocław, city over 1000-years old, of crucial value for Polish, German, Czech and Austrian culture.
